i just picked up a 1d mkiin. im kind of confused what lenses are compatible? i have a tokina 12-24 f/4 for canon mount. i expected to have vignetting, and it did. any recommendations on lenses with short to medium range? i know L lenses would be fine.

Yes, it does suck. I really am sorry.

I have 4 OEM batteries, one R year coded (2003, must be from a classic), two S year (2004) and one T year (2005). All work great! Just lucky? I dunno, got them with my 1D II and 1D II N.

All EF lenses will mount, EF-S will not. EF-S is a Canon proprietary mount so for third party lenses meant for crop cameras they will mount but may vignette.

How much vignetting are you getting on the 12-24mm? My 11-16mm Tokina works perfectly to 14mm, has a little vignetting at 13mm and worse but still usable at 12mm while 11mm is not really usable except for a panorama.

I am also looking at a wide angle lens. Considering the 17-40 f/4 L but I am thinking it may not be wide enough compared to my 24-105.

Do you have any non-cropped samples that show the vignetting at 11, 12 and 13 mm respectively on your Tokina?

Kind regards,
Kenneth

Ok, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to hate you(J/K).

My Puffin trip was canceled due to bad weather this year, I seem to bring the bad weather to wherever I go when it comes to vacations lately so I'm super jealous. :(

That is almost equal to taking 8fps nonstop 24/7 for a year.

The guy I got it from said it had the shutter replaced and only had 7k or so on the new one, so that's nice :D
