Great bike shot! I must do more motorsports with my 1DII's.

Thanks Harry ! As you can see....this shoot was pretty much pushing the limits of available light action:

Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/80
Av( Aperture Value ) 1.8
ISO Speed 1600
Lens 85.0mm

....add the fact that I was not getting my panning correct to the riders. I found it difficult to get the pan right, because unlike many forms of motorsport where they are essentially at a constant speed, these guys are of course accelerating rapidly. So my pan technique was not too good ! I need to get out there more and practice on that.

I've never ridden a bike but that sounds a bit like rallye! I used to drive and you are never at a constant speed, you are always either hell bent for leather/pedal to the metal/balls to the wall or braking as hard as you can, sliding all four wheels the whole time. Fun but takes practice to pan them right, you have to accelerate right along with them.

Has anyone ever had their equipment lost while at CPS? If so, did they replace it or anything?

I ask because I shipped off my MKIIN on Saturday and it shows "delivered" on Tuesday 9:20AM. I've been calling Canon everyday since then and they said that they don't have anything in the system. I don't care what happens to it as long as I get a camera back. lol and yes, I did have the label marked RUSH Gold CPA blah blah blah

The blown out tablecloth and angular field of depth does weird things to the far profile of the lens. Still, wanted a picture of my new toy and was too lazy to clear off my working space.

I want to go to an F1 race so bad! I wish there was one closer than Montreal. Though that's not too far away, maybe an 7 hour drive or so.

There was a USGP for years but they messed it up...

As for stuff getting lost I'm sure it happens. If it was delivered you can probably get the signature info and get CPS to find out who that was and ask them what they did with your camera. Good luck!

Dude, it is sooo worth the drive. Luckily I'm only an hour an a half away and I plan on going this spring. The first time I went to the Canadian GP in Montreal I was only 2 years old.

Yeah, I'll have to see if I can get my dad to go. It would be a blast.

Thanks zildjansg ! .....gotta admit your high ISO shot of the F1 cars is a lot better than my shot of the bike though !

My experience witnessing and shooting(through the fens, hehe) F1 race was,IMHO, extraordinary since the feeling is very different from all other race. The challenge was also there since you will be shooting night time and through the fence and those cars are damn fast, except during turns which I observe still very fast. I assure you your 7 hour drive will be all worth it.:D

@george: it justifies my doubt regarding 1D2's high ISO handling, ISO 1600 is damn clean.:)
