I will be leaving this club soon :/ upgrading/downgrading to a 5D Mark II. I shoot a LOT more studio than I do sports/fast action nowdays and I think the timing is right. I'm definitely gonna miss the 45-point AF/AF speed though.

awesome shot. Very tasteful. I see a lot of pregnancy photos that sort of make me cringe, this is very artistic and very tasteful. Are there more in the set you can show?

Just want to ask 1D owners what bag to fit 1D with 70-200 F2.8 mounted ? I ordered few bags including Kata 3in1 30 before find out it won't fit my 1D 2N with 70-200 F2.8II mounted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used Lowepro 75AW especially if I will just carry only the 70-200 2.8 with me.

Hey guys and gals. I've been lurking around here for a bit now, thought I'd finally say hello. Here are some of my shots from my 1d2. I got it off ebay a couple months ago and love it with all my heart.

Thank you ! Yeah some pregnancy photos turn out bad, I was very happy with that shot.

Here is another one with a single Vivitar 285 HV 1/4th power through umbrella, left of camera. natural sunlight on the right of her. used the girlfriend as a light stand since it was breezy and didn't want my gear to topple over.

i always come across posts of people asking about 3200 iso. i wanted to posted a worst case scenario for me so far. this image was originally quite underexposed. if i remember correctly i boosted at least .5 stop. maybe .66. have to go back n look at the raw. either way...here it is.

^^^ That's not bad at all! You can notice a teeny bit of noise in the bokeh but nothing unusable!

these should show more shadow noise. i am really not too bothered by it. still maintains a (for lack of better term) more film like grain. color noise creeps in from time to time, but noise ninja (when adjusted properly) can kill it and retain plenty of detail. i did nothing to combat noise in these. the first one was helped by reducing exposure in post. the second was hurt by increasing...the dj lighting really screws with the flash metering from time to time! anyway...here they are. love em or hate em, it is what it is. still usable in my book

note..this is a websize version of this image. full size shows more abundantly, but still usable for me. i have yet to have a client complain because their low light images had noise. i would imagine that a client may complain, however, if the shot was totally misfocused or way under/over exposed. as long as they like the way they look and it is of high quality they are always happy!

Haha yeah I would like to get a 7D, 1DIII but as you said, this fits the budget much better :) And I'm sure I'll be VERY happy with it over my current 40D and XTi (im selling the XTi to cover the cost a bit). My first 1D body, extremely excited :D

Eventually I'll get the 1D III or IV but not till down the road when the funds allow it ;)

yeah thats my dilemma...sell the 5d and keep the mark ii with a mark iv, or sell both the 5d and 1d II for 2 mark III's. or offload the mark II next year for a mark III and keep the 5d. i think the wife is sold on a mark IV...even if it means losing her full frame goodness. decisions, decisions.....

Hahahaha yeah I would love to get a FF body as well as I shoot a lot of portraits and cars, but at the same time I take lots of bird photos and would like to start doing some sports some more again. To me the 1D bodies are a perfect happy medium. 1.3 crop, between FF an 1.6 so I'm getting a little bit of the best of both worlds :)
