yeah the 1.3 doesnt bother me at all, though the additional resolution of the 5Dc is kind of nice. ideally keep that and replace the mark II with a mark IV. need to land a few more weddings for that to happen though!

< $900... I figure the extra money is worth the 15 day return and 30 warranty... With the holidays, I actually have till Jan 17 to return it...

okay, spent about the last three hours reading the manual, setting up custom func and gettin used to it and taking comparison shots with the 40D.. I lovin this camera but im not sellin the 40D anytime soon..lovin the bigger screen too much

what im noticing is.. the AWB still lacks accuracy, but its not too bad

heres a 100%, OOC, 17-70 DC @70mm, 430EX bounced off the ceiling

Congrats, What was the B&H rating for it? It looks in great shape.

It was an 8... I was a little concerned, but once I got it, the few dings don't bother me... The 1D Mk II that I got there was a 9 and it looked like it was never used... If the Mk II N works out, I'll be selling my Mk II here...

Hi everyone,

I'm a new 1D Mk II owner. Purchased it from a local seller with 33k clicks. Not sure if it's accurate but the body didn't look like it had 100k on it.

I have a question about one of the batteries that came with it. The battery is a third party unit and the lock on the end doesn't work very well. It loses connection if i angle the camera such that the battery pulls on the lock. My original Canon battery works fine and makes a nice seal. I've read some posts on the net that describe replacing the end cap with the original Canon cam lock to make a better connection.

Anybody have any experience with the modification before I start looking for a battery carcass to part out?

Thanks

Did you buy it off of "the heavy hammer" on Digital Grin by any chance? If so, I was going to buy that off of him but he said the local sale went through, so I got a different one.

Good luck with the battery issue though, I'm sure you can figure something out that will work efficiently ;)
