Well crap im pretty sure my shutter just went out on my mkII any one have a good idea on what a replacement costs?? I have seen them saying anywhere from $250-$600 USD

.....yeah Brandon....that probably about covers the range ! ;) Doesn't matter....you gotta have it ! I've looked at your sprint car shots several times. Good stuff for sure.
What can 'ya say.....the old 1D2 still does the business, so just keep fixing it until Canon says, "no more".

the sad thing is I just got the camera a little over a month ago, was told that the shutter was replaced once and had about 60K on it. I really dont have the money to fix it at the moment gotta find someone to buy my Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM II. So I guess ill be goin back to my 50d

Yes sir....well, as you no doubt know, these shutters seem to run the range, from "not lasting very long at all", to "seems to go on forever".

Yep they sure do, Im a bit bummed out since Im covering the Nascar Truck race this weekend and with the AF system on the 1d being super fast compared to the 50d plus I fell in love with the files coming out of the 1d.

That sucks Brandon. The 1d2 I bought had the shutter replaced 2 weeks before I bought it. I have the receipt from Canon, it was ~280 IIRC. I am not sure if the previous owner had CPS though.

thanks, Im hoping its arround 200-300 I cant really aford much more than that unless I sell a ton of photos :)
