I finally finished processing a few images from my trip to the coast last weekend. I've posted some shore birds in the Birds forum, and here are some mammals. The lighting at Ano Nuevo was brutal, so they are what they are.

C&C are welcome as always. Thanks for looking.

Very nice series, Ed. I am particularly partial to the sea otters. And Blondie is beautiful. We love them. I took 100s of images last July when we visited. Now we are looking forward to our return to the Central California coast in August or September 2009. When are the Elephant Seals at Ano Nuevo? Year around or seasonal?

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone.

EdV: The otter images were taken from a boat in Elhorm Slough. If you are into kayaking, you can get out there and kayak up ver close to the otters =- probably wouldn't need much of a telephoto lens for that. There is also a small raft of otters that live in the boat dock at Elkhorn Slough just as you turn off of Highway one and look to your right at the very first water you see. Don't need a boat or a kayak for those guys.

PM if you want the info on the boat trip I took.
