This game is to help those of us who are trying to learn new tricks when it comes to editing.

Here's the breakdown of the game. I will post a picture that I choose, resized to exactly 800 pixels maximum on the long side. Outside of being resized it has to be unedited...meaning no adjustments to any levels, it has to look like it did as it came out of the camera.

The game will last 48hrs and whoever can produce the best edited image (as judged by me) will be picked and it'll be their turn to post their unedited picture for all of us to take a crack at.

The participants must have there "Image Editing OK" turned on and they must provide at least a simple breakdown of how they edited the image, some entrants are a little vague on this point, please give us all details so we can learn and share tips. For instance if you use the unsharp mask tool or Smart Sharpen, provide us with the adjustments you used so others can try them out.

You can post multiple images, but the first image you post will be the one that is judged - all other images will be considered for knowledge and tip use only.

Also, please keep all comments, be they positive or negative, to yourself until after the game has ended.

If you happen to be the winner of the game please start the next one with the title of the game and the following number. For example…the next game should read (Before and After #26.)

This is all about having fun so have at it!!!

This game will end on February 26, 2008 at 23:59 PST

this is the only photo I have right now that isnt edited in some way.

With this one...
-Levels
-Brightness & Contrast
-High Pass sharpening layer this time with a setting of overlay
-A burn layer of soft light went over the whole with image with a big brush and put it on a mask. Tried this to get a more uniform look it's hard to tell what you burn at a lower opacity and when you overlap it's a little too dark.
-Photo Stylizer with Nik Software
-Added a drop shadow to the picture, expanded the canvas and put an inside stroke for the border

I liked Monty's take on the last edit so I had to give it a go here. I used the frame feature in Helicon Filter ver. 4.83 and repeated it eight times; then added the drop shadow.

OK...

I did a bunch of cloning. I wanted to get rid of all the bright lights in the background.
Cropped.
Desaturated the red.
Added a blur to the background.
Upped the contrast.
Noise reduction.
Added the black border.

For some reason I had a really hard time trying to figure out what to do with this one. Then when I finally figured out something adobe froze lol. So now I finally got it.

-cropped and cloned out some parts.
-I duplicated the layer and turned it b&w then erased some of the parts on the people (many skin and colored clothing)
-added a slight blur to the B&W parts
-added a high pass filter to the colored parts
-added color to the clothing
-added border

CONGTRATS to everyone!

The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer.
