Just sold my 5D and purchased a 1D Mkiii! Thank you IRS!

It all started as a hobby with a Rebel XT & KIT lens. $5K worth of equipment & $0 of income later, all I have to show for it is a harddrive full of pictures and priceless memories!! Yeah it's still worth it :)

Why are you saying "thank you IRS"? That is your money, not theirs.

Congrats on the camera, though I can't understand why you're thanking the IRS. It was actually your money to begin with, they were just holding it until you filed to get it back. :)

Many of us would just spend the $ rather than saving it as some do throughout the year...I understand the concept of not letting the IRS keep your $ during the year but in the end, I'd rather get a check:cool:
Also understand the concept of not thanking them though.....I ran into some problems years back (an emplyer messed me up big time) and those IRS folks were not too friendly, in fact....well, nevermind, it still irks me

They are quick to charge you for the money you owe them (penalties and interest) yet they keep what's ours for free don't they?

Good to see my money being put to good use...like new schools and parks for neighborhoods that never happens to be my own.

Anyways, I agree with the savings concept. I would never save that money by my own. So it's always nice to get something in a chunk...and it's the only time during the entire year that I feel like it's nice to have this big-arse mortgage of mine!

Me too Nick, the mortgage and the business I started this year really kicked in the $ back.
