I was looking around amazon for a macro, tele and wide angle lens. I found some cheap alternatives. ie

http://www.amazon.com …to&qid=1203910877&sr=1-16 (external link)

http://www.amazon.com …to&qid=1203911120&sr=1-34 (external link)

http://www.amazon.com …to&qid=1203911120&sr=1-31 (external link)

If I were to purchase a canon set, the package would be around 250 dollars, which seems a little silly to me....better off putting it towards a newer camera.
I sent lensmate on line an email, but they don't have the adapter tube for the 570 yet, mount is a bayonet as opposed to a threaded version, so no go there.

A. Going on the assumption that i usually get what I pay for, are these lens worth investigating?

B. Would it be worth it to get just the adapter tube to install some filters on?

C. Just enjoy the a570 in stock form and start putting my pennies and nickels away fot something better in the future?

D. I've read a couple of threads about Raynox, would they fit the adapter tube as long as thread size is 52mm.

Any input about ebay lenes and thier quality and price would be appreciated.

I used to own the Powershot Pro1 (yes the one with the L lens) like the A570 that could also take extra lenses, teleconverter, wideangle attachments etc etc.. but I never felt it was worth spending any more cash on.

I eventually sold it for a DSLR but now have recently purchased another compact, the A720IS (far better than the Pro1 I used to have as well), however I still dont feel the extra attachments are worth spending too much cash on, these little cameras are getting cheap enough to replace now without spending too much money, if I wanted extra reach I would buy a camera with more zoom, not mess around attaching lenses.

But everyone has different views on this, for some a point & shoot is their ONLY camera, so in that case it could be worth spending a little extra on the attachments, but in the case of the A570 I wouldnt feel its worth spending anymore on, the attachments will end up costing more than the camera, a G9 is another story, that could possibly be worth adding all the extras to it & making a better setup, because its a nicer camera to begin with (although not a massive improvement in IQ over the A570 from results ive seen, more so in the build quality & features)
