I am just getting started with flash photography and just got the 580ex.
I was fooling around with the two of them............

I used 580ex as master and 420 as slave.....i tried different setting....but one that gets me is when i set the 580 not to flash as the book tells me.....it still flashes when i press the shutter and take the photo.....the slave fires like it is supposed to..........but the 580 also fires at the same time......i did just like th manual tells me ....but it still flashes........is that right?

Any feedback would be appreciated.......
