Love it! The original picture just doesn't pop, but the blurring of the background is fantastic, come on over and show me how to do that! LOL
Just got CS3 and am climbing the learning curve.

You must have put a lot of planning into this shot. Just by looking at the second image, I wouldn't have thought to do what you did to the first. The final exacution of this shot is really some considering what you were working with. Needless to say I really like what you did here. The colour rendering is perfect.

Happy shooting

The pose makes her head & neck look really small, but her legs HUGE. It use the liquify tool and thin her legs, it looks rather unpropotional for her size.

add a little contrast and I'd prefer the original over the edit.

Thanks for the comments, I'm gonna do a final touchup to print and I did liquify her waist down on her right plus puckered her left love handle side already. Maybe I'll do a little touchup on the legs/knees. She was leaning back in the photo so thats why it appears this way with the legs.

Basically when I started I was going for the Dave Hill look, the idea went another direction after awhile though. About 20 layers, 10 masks, little diffuse glow on face/legs, lucis art plugin (winslow/exposure), niks filter (saturation/contrast) curves. Really I was going back and fourth just experimenting, she looked totally digitized at one point and I just masked her back down to the first two layers. After each modification I duplicated to a new layer so I could always go back to the home image.

I had a really close to Dave Hill look, look at her skirt it and the background before blurring had the effect. The blur is radial blur in CS3 then she is masked out which Im gonna fine tune some more around her hair strands.
