Here's one from today. About 4:00, nasty overcast weather all day, ISO 800. I must say, IS was a boon. I took quite a few shots at 250mm f/5.6 such as this one. Sharpness is decent but not incredible. Bokeh leaves a lot to be desired (my 70-210mm f/3.5-4.5 USM seemed much better in this regard). I'd like to look into the 200mm f/2.8 L now...

Straight out of camera:

loving the reach for candids! helps you to not being in their face thus them not noticing you. love the fact that it's black as well... so less prone to get ppl's attention.

I'm not saying I'll never upgrade to a nice 70-200 tho ;) haha

just yesterday with my new 7D:

New bird outing, with crop. Shot with a rebel XT at ISO 400. Looking back I could have easily gotten away with 200, and possibly 100. Oh well.

Here's another one from last weekend, same bird as previous shot a few posts back. I thought this shot was heading for the trash originally, but after some PP....

Here's the original

and after some PP using GIMP

I did a curve adjust to bring out the bird and branches, that ended up with a very blown out sky. So then used the blue sky and clouds script from http://www.farcrydesign.com/GIMP/BlueSkyClouds.html (external link)

It's not perfect but I think I made it a keeper......CC welcome

I usually don't care about cat pictures but this one is very nicely done. good composition, subject position, exposition, background, crisp image with eyes in focus, warm feel (colors) - probably due to the sun position

congrats
