I must say, IS was a boon. I took quite a few shots at 250mm f/5.6 such as this one. Sharpness is decent but not incredible. Bokeh leaves a lot to be desired (my 70-210mm f/3.5-4.5 USM seemed much better in this regard). I'd like to look into the 200mm f/2.8 L now... 30D | X-Pro1 | X10 | Q

and after some PP using GIMP
I did a curve adjust to bring out the bird and branches, that ended up with a very blown out sky. So then used the blue sky and clouds script from http://www.farcrydesign.com/GIMP/BlueSkyClouds.html It's not perfect but I think I made it a keeper......CC welcome Canon Rebel XS, 18-55mm Kit Lens, Nifty Fifty, EF-S 55-250, Slik Pro 700DX
