that link looks accurate. Did you hover your mouse over the "250mm" part of the bar underneath the dog? The layout isn't the top pic @ 55 & the bottom pic @ 250. They're two completely different examples where you hover your mouse of the focal length to see the difference.

but here's actual photos for ya...1st pic is @ 55mm & 2nd pic @ 250mm. No cropping done.

Is there something strange about teddybears posted by someone named "Oldvultureface?"

Nice photos. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I do. In fact, I have two. The younger one (girl, age 10) is a Build-A-Bear nut, and she sleeps with all her furry stuffed friends. It's a wonder there's room for her in the bed.

A glass of wine would do the same. The pictures were in response to the request for 55mm and 250mm shots from the same position. I must choose my models more wisely in the future so as not to imperil my screen name. :)

This 55-250 seems to be pretty awesome. I'm either getting this one or the 70-300 is usm soon. After seeing all these pics and the great price, I'm leaning toward this one.

apexman, I like the composition but the 1/30 sec shutter speed @250mm (x1.6) is a bit too slow even with IS. With T2i's sensor you could have easily used ISO 800 and that would have given you 4 extra stops so you'd have a higher shutter speed.

Thanks for the info. I was using the slower shutter to try and show the wind blowing but keep the bird in somewhat focus. I was on a tripod with IS off.
