Got the lens Friday and wanted to give it a test run today so the wife and I picked up a niece who's been wanting to get a few pictures for her Myspace...here's what we got.

I don't have much to compare it with, but I'm satisfied with it.

I'll get some more serious shots later... I'm shooting a pro boxing match April 4th and will take a few with this lens as well.

Do you think this is the IQ you would expect from this lens?

jonna99: just me or is there no pic? Anyways, the shots look decent, not incredibly sharp, looks like they lack a bit of contrast, but have low vignetting and IS, and i tihnk its a great deal for 270 bucks. I just can't decide between this and the 70-300. I dont use tele too much, so i keep thinking i should go with the 55-250. But then again, i want great images when i do use tele... Nice shots everyone though!

Na, just kidding, you are still a loser.
^^ If you higlight this you will be cool ^^

These were my first pictures with a new Canon 55-250. I was more interested in seeing what the camera could do with it this day. The action was fast and there was little time to plan for composition.......primarily because I was handling the retriever, too.

Here are three from the "bunch". The dog is in high motion and the photos are cropped some. Also, I did some GIMP work ("removed" shell casings on the ground and a fence post).

I just started using my Rebel XTi a few months ago. The Tamron 17-50 and this lens were added last week ago.

Here's a couple more recent ones...

I am still loving this lens. Not the sharpest ever, and sometimes AF isn't the best, but once you get used to it and understand its quirks, you can get some great images with it!

Can pictures be posted directly from a computer, or do they have to be uploaded to a photo website first?

I've had a 40D for two weeks. Here are a couple of my first shots using the EF-S 50-250.

Chicadee was completely in a hole in a dead tree. I waited for him to come out and then snapped the pictures.
