Okay, many of you probably don't even know who I am, but last year (the end of July I guess), I made the terrible mistake of selling my beloved Nifty Two Fifty and replaced it with a Tamron 70-300 (and a bunch of silly initials). I've rued that day ever since...... until today that is. Just received another Nifty Two Fifty that I bought right here on POTN. Between this lens, and my 300L f/4, I'm in camera heaven.

The Tamron has it's advantages (build and reach), but on pure IQ alone when I did side by side comparison test shots, the two-fifty was sharper and had better colors. Just glad I never sold my copy. Some of us just have to learn the hard way I guess. Then again, the Tammy was never supposed to be a permanent solution. I needed that little bit of extra reach until I could afford the 300L f/4 IS, which I now have.

Apr 04, 2012 18:07 | #4635 Funny thing is this lens has become my walk around and outdoor portrait lens. I love my 50mm, can't wait to get my Tammy 17-50 to replace the 18-55, but there is something special about this lens. 70D, 80D, SL1, Sigma 10-20 3.5, Σ30mm 1.4, 40mm 2.8 Pancake Σ70mm 2.8 EX DG Macro, Canon 17-55 2.8 IS, Σ85 1.4, Σ50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM APO, Godox AD 200 X's 2, 430EX II X's 2, Yongnuo YN-560II X's 2, Cowboy Studio wireless flash triggers X4.Ian_socool FlickR
