Great thread -- so many great shots. I just made the switch to Canon from Nikon (upgraded from a D50 to a T1i). A friend had an unneeded 55-250mm IS that he just offered to me for $85 which I couldn't pass up.

In fact I did (with a fully manual ET set) a while back :)
Handles pretty well if you can manage with moving the camera back n forth to gain focus rather than relying on fine tuning focus.
