Thanks a lot. I'm glad you liked them.

That one of your youngest, is very nice and she is very pretty.

At f/5.6 this is quite good and the picture has come out very nice and crisp.
By seeing the exif, I see that you have used flash... What I want to ask is that have you bounced the flash or used a diffuser? as this created a very subtle, even lit photograph.

Thanks! I was very pleased to get such a good portrait with this lens. This was just bounced flash, I believe. I was doing some test shots in a room with an overhead light - which is why it's a little too yellow. I just never did fix in PP.

Nevertheless, that yellow cast is played well in the photograph and it really looks great being more warmer.

Whats your opinion of the 85mm you have on the cropped body?

The 85 mm is my absolute favorite lens. It really makes you move around and pay closer attention that what's in the photo so the composition comes out better, IMO. Excellent for portraits.

Here's the thread for the 85mm:

+1+1+1+1

The only problem is when you go from single person to groups ... there's usually not enough room to back up with the 85.

Really nice pictures, but it's not a water moccasin. It's just a non venomous water snake. I'm not that familiar with Florida's water snakes, so I'm not sure which species. But it's obviously not a water moccasin. Probably the most obvious clue is the eye. All US pit vipers have elliptical pupils (like cats) while harmless water snakes have round pupils. It also doesn't have a "pit". Also, the head shape is all wrong (not triangular shaped) and the markings are blotched whereas water moccasins are more banded rather than blotched.

Idk if i fully agree with that but it makes sense as he didn't mind that we got really close.

Edit: It's a Brown Water Snake. Also known as a False Water Moccasin.

I picked up a 55-250 just under 2 weeks ago and have not really had a tonne of time to play with it yet, but with the nice weather this weekend I got a couple chances.

Taken from my balcony, it is cropped but SOC otherwise.
Handheld.
