took these today for "she who must be obeyed's" doll collection catalog. BTW, these had no real PP...just some levels and very minimal shaprening in LR....focus point using LiveView on both was the left eye.

I recently got mine & so far I'm quite happy with it. I haven't had as much time to play with it as I would like, but I have gotten a few shots.

My dog, Harley

Harley is adorable!! We were trying to figure out if he is something like a Keeshond/Husky mix? What a face... :D

I did do some minor PP'ing. I hope they don't look overdone? I shoot in RAW, so did some minor adjustments in ACR. & then opened them in PSE & did levels & a very minor curves adjustment and crop. I know for sure I didn't sharpen the one of Harley except for the clarity slider in ACR (and it wasn't very much). I can't remember if I added any USM to the flower, but if I did, it was a small amount. I try to be pretty conservative with my PP'ing, so if they look overdone, please let me know.

Jaci

USM was added (local contrast).
The Clarity function in ACR was added there because people kept using USM for local contrast and it became really popular.
The Clarity function is essentially the same thing you get when using local contrast USM.

Sorry I wasn't more clear. I meant I didn't run (additional) USM or Adjust Sharpness in PSE on the Harley picture, but I can't remember if I did or did not on the flower picture. I did a small amount of the clarity slider in ACR on both.

Everytime I look at one and it looks back at me through the lens there is a split moment when I think that is going to attack me

Where did you grow up in Europe?

Yeah, we have some squirrels here that are about as wide as they are long, and they don't clear the way for you without you getting really close. I'll take a photo of one of these BMF's one day. If they don't kick my a## first.

I grew up in the fmr USSR.

I go to MI to visit family and am always amazed at how big the squirrels are. My uncle's neighbor was mowing his lawn on a riding lawnmower and had to shut it off, get up and physically chase the squirrel out of his way because the squirrel wouldn't move for the riding mower.

Down here in FL, we have scrawny little fellas that are lightning fast, up there, they're more like tanks.

Wow.

The ones we have here are fairly big and get comfortable with humans but they will run away if you get really close to them.

The geese and mallards are another story here.
They are so used to humans that they will stand their ground (the geese especially) and hiss at you like they own the place.

I was taking some pics of geese this weekend and was laying on the grass and they started hissing and charging towards me (like 10-20 of them). I had to get up and walk away :)

Yeah, some squirrels around here could compete with downtown gangstas for turf. ;) They are big and fat and stubborn - and you're right, they don't give way. There's also black squirrels which are a fluffier breed, but still nothing close to the red European squirrels, they were ultimate plush toys !

Here's a pic of one from the net:
