As in indoor autoshow? o.O It's a wee bit too slow for it unless the show has stupendous lighting. Granted the IS will give you a lot of fudge factor for shutter speed.

+1 on it being too slow. I would go as far as too say that it is way too slow for most booths at indoor autoshows, unless the lighting at that particular booth is really good.

Maybe, maybe not. I had alot of keepers at an indoor autoshow a couple of years back with my 50mm f/1.8 shot mostly at f/4 (ISO1600) with a monopod. If he keeps his 55-250 at 55m f/4 he could theoretically do the same thing with IS on or with a monopod.

With that said, I'd suggest using a wider lens though. I went on a slow day and didn't have many people blocking or walking into my shot. But a wider lens would of been much more helpful, IMHO :)

Regards,
Peter

Wow! The flower and the squirrel are both amazing shots. I just ordered the 55-250 and I would be thrilled if I can get shots that good!!!

2nd that on the flower and squirrel shots, here are a couple of my squirrel shots taken yesterday. First one ISO800 1/60 wide open at 5.6 the second one ISO 1600 1/160 at 5.0. I think the lens is pretty good for the price as these pics were shot wide open at high ISO. IS is also very good as one of the shots was taken at 1/60 at 194mm

Another great shot. I love the expression on the cat's face.

Looking for a little help here. I'm just starting out ad could use some pointers. Please offer suggestions for positioning of subjects to get better lighting. I
didn't want them facing the sun, but still got way too much glare. Thanks for the feedback.
