Imagine finding some of your stock photography being sold without your knowledge. You cause a ruckus and they SUE you. What to do? Counter sue, represent yourself and win big.

I read through through the decision, and finally hit the end where he was denied attorney fees, and was shocked that with such a slam dunk, the judge would deny attorney fees.

Then it hit me that he represented himself.

Great to see that even the little guy can still have his voice heard over issues like this.

Good to hear that he suceeded with the countersuit.

Just a shame he didnt get more as this would have sent out a clear signal to anyone thinking about stealing images.

As for getting them of some guy in a sauna - what a crock of [Insert expletive here].

I know they say justice is blind - but do they think its dumb and stupid as well???

At the hearing that followed, Morgan Smith asked the judge to dismiss my claim because it involved copyright, which is under the jurisdiction of federal courts. The judge agreed. This brilliant tactic resulted in me being awarded $20,000 in federal court, instead of the $5,000 I asked for in small claims court.

Classic.

I can't help but wonder... will the guy ever collect?
