I jumped the gun and ordered a "Bower 724-AFC TTL Flash for Canon EOS Rebel GII K2 TI 2000 Elan 7e 7"

Now I come to realize it may not be compatiable with my S5. Any insight on this?
Thanks

Pam

All I can offer you ATM is a firm "Maybe". The Bower website is light on details; I believe all the cameras listed in your blurb are TTL, and the S5 requires E-TTL. If so, the flash would be usable only in Manual.

Thank you for your reply. I'm after reading so much about TTL and E-TTL that I'm getting confused. I really hope it works. And if it only works in manual mode I'll be ok with that for the price I paid for it.
Again, thank you for your help..
Pam

So, I've come to realize that all the camera's listed for this flash are Film Camera's. Guess I should found this out before I ordered....
But I guess it's still possible for it to work right?
I'm so nervious now that it will fry my camera..... Although it also lists as working with the Powershot G series.....so i dunno
Thanks Again,
Pam

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=261295 suggests (since the Digital Rebels need E-TTL too) that it won't work in Auto. The listing is for the EOS (film) Rebel G II, not the PowerShot G2. I don't believe it'll fry the camera; it just won't give you auto flash.

I recieved the flash unit yesterday. It seems to be working ok for me. I have no complaints so far. But that could be because I have no experience with any other kind. Thank you all for you responses.
