Well I finally bit the bullet and ordered my 5D kit Saturday. So Adorama sends me an email today saying its back ordered  despite being in stock on the site. So now they're telling me that it will be 2-3 weeks. Guess I have to cancel and order from B&H.

Amazon says they have them in stock. Their delivery is very fast...

I wouldn't cancel it, I ordered my 580 EXII through Adorama and received the email that my order has been backorder. Next day I get an email saying it has been shipped and processed.

When I placed the order for my XT and memory, It said my memory was backordered for 2-3 weeks. I asked them to ship my XT and send the memory when it was back in stock. When I got my package, I opened it and everything I ordered (including backordered stuff) was there. Maybe I got lucky? ??? I don't know, but give it a try. :)

A while back I was looking to buy a used lens, I saw it on Adorama's site, and I thought they had it. I went to their store, turns out they didn't have it. I thought their was some kind of mix up since I just saw it on their site, then I asked another person if they had it. He said yeah we have it in stock and he'll called someone to bring it down. 20 minutes of waiting later.. they said they don't have it. Turns out they don't update their used products on their site. That and a few other experiences made me not want to do business with them ever again.

I wrote this on the other thread.

On my last order of ink from Adorama through Amazon the ship date on my email was two and a half weeks. Six days later I received my order in full. Amazon seems to always give me long leadtimes to ship, but rarely does it take that long.

Well I ordered from Adorama to get the additional rebate ($300) from the pro9000 printer. So I hate to cancel.

I haven't had as much luck with Adorama as some. They were very slow to deliver my last order, and they wanted me to call only so they could try to sell me filters and such.

Try B&H, 17th street, or Buydig.com.

Yeah when I bought my 30D they wouldnt ship it until they called and tried to sell me an extended warranty.

I have done tons of business with them without a hitch but this is the second strike so I may have to switch to B&H.

On the three orders I've placed with Adorama in the past, they have always held up my orders by emailing me about needing to call and speak with a sales rep. _ the very reason I don't use them any longer. I don't buy from a business that tries and up sale me some store brand filters or cleaning kit.

B&H, Canoga Camera or Norman Camera is who I usually deal with.

Should have been using B&H in the first place ;)

Yes, I've had good dealings with B&H, Canoga, Onecall, KEH, Samy's and 17th street.

My experience with Norman is less than ideal. They sold me a defective Sigma 20/1.8. I returned it, and ended up getting the SAME defective lens back 2 months later. I won't do business with them again.

WHAT? I have probably purchased easily 10K worth of merchandise from Adorama within the past 18 months. This includes a 40D, and a 30D a couple of lenses. Not once did I get an email to call, or some other BS to allow them the opportunity to sell me more stuff. I have received everything within days, well packed, and complete. In fact I am getting ready to buy some more stuff from them. I will stick with them until they give me a reason to do otherwise.
