Ok I tried for three hours tonight to get my 600mm lens to fit in my Airport Addicted, no go. It is just to tight and doesn't leave much room for other lens's or bodies.

Returning to the orignial statement, I find it hard to beleive this is a problematic fit. The Airport Addicted is 8" deep in the lower 1/3 and is 21" tall on the interior. Are you trying to pack away your lens with a 1D series body attached? This is generally not advised for durability of the lens/camera combination. But it should fit! The Kinesis and other bags like the Lens Trekker will work fine, but you will have an even tougher time toting all of your extras lenses and accessories as those are bags dedicated to a single lens compartment. You can lash on additonal smaller lens compartments, but it gets rather ungainly.
The Airport Addicted is the largest capacity, airline legal camera bag out there. for example it is much deeper than a Photo Trekker. Other lens bags may be too deep to be airline legal, but one may not necessarily run in to a carry on problem.

cool :) ...the only down side to the kinesis is the backpack harness which is not as comfortable as the one of the lowepro 600..

I've actually not tried the kenisis harness, I had purchased a Tenba harness for another bag all together ( it had the rings but no harness? ) and use it on the kenisis for when I want it to be a back pack. The Tenba harness is VERY comfortable, excllent padding and very sadjustable. This one harness fits three of my bags, none of which are made by Tenba.

..but like the other Tamrac, Lowepro stuff, it is heavy itself.
I think the harness weighs more than the empty kenisis bag!

heheh, remind me to try your harness next time we are out. the Kinesis one is ok and does the job but the lowepro has better padding. if the Tenba works better than the kinesis, i might just go for that one.

Oh..

Are you looking for a bag for air travel? for packing? if so, IMHO the Kenisis might not be the nest choice.
It will easily work as carry on as it's small enough, but it does not have much additional room, and this is the one case where it's lightweight re: padding might be a disadvantage.

When I want to Africa I packed for carry on in a seperate bag, and packed the kenisis in my checked baggage for use when I got there.

The Kenisis is IT for hiking and working out of in the field, but not the best (or most affordable) for air travel.

Tenba Harness @ B&H (external link)

... it's cheap too :)

Lots of bags have the rings tht will allow them to be carried backpack style.

Thanks! No not for air travel. I wanted soemthing for fotting it around raqce tracks and moderate hiking in the wilderness so to speak.

The Thinktank is a nice bag, but honestly once I got it in there I really didn't have much room fo rmy other lens's and bodies essentially making it a huge bag for one lens and a few small goodies.

I did order the l621, harness's, holsters etc with thte heavy duty pack system. We will see how it all comes together...
