In my attempt to become a boxing photographer i shot my 2nd event this weekend... here are my results...

I tried to anticipate the punches as much as possible...i seem to be either 1/1000th of a second too late or too early for that perfect punch...

1. Juan Velasquez (black & gold trunks) takes a left jab from Richard Ellis (black & white trunks)

Looks like you are on your way to becoming a boxing photographer, you ended up with some good pics. You may want to try some different cropping, most of the boxing stuff you want to keep tight. One example would be photo 7 you could crop out the red corner bag, it makes your eye jump to right.

Also the ref could be cut out, the story of that photo is right their with daniel standing over Frank. Never the less good piture.

Timing and the punch to face shot is always a hard picture to pick up, just watch the boxers stlyes "Southpaw, Jabber ,puncher" The heavier the weight of the boxer the easier it is to try and capture the punch, the lighter guys and gals are faster, and just a little harder to capture. You did a fine job capturing the punch.
