Ya, I have a 1560. I cant see taking it on a plane as a carry on, even if they let me.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I googled and in some instances it was ok and people didn't have trouble, but people mostly had to check their bags. Even if they would let them take the 1560 on board, most of the time it didn't fit in the overhead cabin because it's pretty thick.

I know there was discussion about this but I couldnt find it for sure, but has anyone ever replaced the wheels with softer, quieter wheels?

That's the new G-Wiz Squared case designed for the PW III. It'll take 4 PW's plus the associated cables. Sure I could store them without the case but it's good (for me) to keep it all together like that :)

They are not need for transportation per se but when I'm at my destination and I want to just carry my camera and lenses in a low-key bag, I can throw them in with the wraps. The wraps also come in handy for protecting other gadgets

Oh man that's an awesome idea. If somebody is stupid enough to try steal your gear they may just overlook things in wraps.... or know it's worth money because you wrapped it. I still prefer the 'tape it so it looks totally broken' method though...

I tend not to use an actual camera bag most of the time, just an old beat up back-pack or messenger bag so throwing just the gear I need for the day into that with the wraps is good enough for me. I might try the old tape trick also :)

It's probably a good idea to use a low-key bag. Having become familiar with various camera bags, I can spot them on the street on people. For a thief looking for photography gear to steal, I would imagine that they are even more aware of camera bags. Perhaps I should use a regular backpack instead of a ThinkTank bag when I want to remain inconspicuous.

I've got a problem with my Pelican Case 1610. I always liked the case (I used it for 2 years now on a weekly basis).
The problem is that the plastic that holds the wheel is nearly cut in half. I've send an E-mail to the shop, but they say this may not be covered by the warranty...
I also own a Pelican 1510 which is a year older but is still going strong (not a scratch on it).
Is the quality really this bad or did I receive a dud? Please let me know if you had a similar problem.
Thanks!

QUOTED IMAGE

Update:
After contacting Pelican in the USA I received a complete new case from them and I'm very happy with their service. The online shop was a lot less willing...

Thumbs up for Pelican customer care!:D
