I'm currently about 41 pages into this thread but am looking at a 1514 the carry on size is a bonus but ideally want to fit in the following:

Canon 5D3 gripped
EOS R gripped
Canon EF 24-105
Canon EF 70-200
Sigma EF 105 macro
Canon RF 50 1.2

4 speedlites and the yongnou 560tx

Thinking of the organiser lid for batteries, chargers, cables and cards.

Will it fit?

Cheers
Scott

That should not be an issue, if you look at the post before this, with the yellow inserts, thats mine, and is the 1514.

1510 with trekpak and lid organiser
Kit: Canon 5d3, Canon EOS R, EF 70-200 f2.8, EF 24-105 f4, Sigma 105 2.8 macro, RF 50 1.2, EF to RF adapter, 4 speedlites. Various batteries and cables in the lid along with a couple of glow sticks and some gaffer tape which always comes in handy. Then the small reflector in there too.

Followed up a couple of days later with a nice latch and handle upgrade. Would love some red skate wheels at some point to replace the hard plastic ones.

I recently replaced my yellow velcro dividers for my 1510 with the Trekpak insert. I really like the customization available. Compared to the capacity with the velcro dividers, I've gained storage space equal to the compartment in the bottom left of the image. I'm not sure I like the 1/2in piece of bottom foam, it seems too thin. I've placed a few random pieces of extra foam under the camera bodies where the strap lug might bump the plastic base of the case through the thin bottom foam.

I used 3 of the 4 pieces of Trekpak included in the kit. I have a smaller piece ready to segregate the large compartment in the upper right if needed.

From left to right along the top row: 24-70 with hood, 10-22, 7Dii with 100-400 mounted
In the bottom left compartment are: 2 chargers, L-Bracket, LED panel, Peak Design capture clip
Then a 70D with 15-85 mounted, and an 80D with 100-400 mounted.

The case weighs about 35 pounds with the gear shown.

I could put a 100 macro lens instead of the random stuff in the bottom left compartment, if needed. A sigma 150-600 C will just fit in one of the larger compartments on the right side. It is very tight.

I wanted to put the two cameras with telephoto lenses in the bottom (left side), but couldn't make them fit with the bumps for the wheels.

The lid organizer can carry some batteries, remotes, cleaning supplies, extra SD cards and other stuff. I have a thinner piece of foam that I use between the organizer and the main compartment.

This is the gear my wife and I most commonly take on a photography outing. I'd probably also bring a small backpack to carry some equipment or extra lens while hiking.

To me it seems the Trekpak liner kit is the biggest scam on the go when it comes to cost of materials vs retail selling price. I have a 1600 case with the pick & pluck foam. The case was bought about 5 years ago. It would cost me more than the original case price to buy the Trekpak kit so I'm gonna make my own. Do yourself a favour and check YouTube before you spend more $ on Trekpak.

Just check Amazon for EVA foam and corrugated plastic sheet. (Saw this DIY Trekpak thing here on p.o.t.n somewhere)

Have Pelican 1510 to carry cameras/regs /flashlight in on diving trips - would like to compartmentalize a little but can’t do $250 for the TrekPack system. Only really need one divider.
Does anyone out there have any "leftovers" from a TrekPack that they might like to get rid of?
Maybe even regular dividers for Pelican?
Thnx - d
