waay haay we had an earthquake last night!

First it has ever happened in my life

a mere 5.2 on the richter scale here in the EAST but the centre was in the midlands, but last night the house started shaking!

I stared in disbelief as my computer chair wobled and my Hifi speakers rocked back and forth

I thought I'd had a drink or something!

I didn't feel the one last night (I'm in Berkshire), but did feel the other one a few years ago. Quite mad to feel your house wobbling like that.

Although what we have is pretty much a daily (boring) occurrance out in California, I'm sure.

Certainly a new one on nme - and on everyone else - apparently the emergency phone lines were overwhelemed last night (1am) and it's on all the local news

I loved it, a bit of excitement for a change. I was just drifting off to sleep when it happened, and remember thinking - what the hell is going on - then enjoying it, before drifting off to sleep. I think it was the rocking that put me to sleep, Ha!

I remember the Newcastle earthquake of '89... I may have only been five at the time but it's a bizarre feeling, quite memorable. At least you didn't have any property damage, I suppose!

I think the epicentre was in Lincoln, I'm in Leicester, so it was pretty strong here.

Being a California native, I ignore anything under a 6.0.
