Dioptric Lens E, Dreb Help

OK here it goes I used to wear contacts for about 5 years and it was great combo with my contacts. All of a sudden my eyes reject contacts and get bloodshot within a days use of contacts, so I am back to glasses. My eye prescription is -3.25 and stock the Dreb only adjusts to -3.00. So I ordered the Canon Dioptric Adjustment Lens E -3. OK now it didnt come with a frame around it, you know that think that holds the rubber. So I figured that after canon told me I didnt need it I could just take the frame off the OEM one and put it on my new lens. Only it seems like the OEM one is all one piece and you cant take it apart, but I cant tell. Does anyone know if it is one piece?

I'm sorry, but I can't really help you with your original question as I don't know the piece of equipment you're inquiring about.

I assume that you tested the -3.0 on the camera and found it not sufficient, although 0.25 seems to be a very small tolerance.

My question is ... did you ever think about laser surgery to your eyes?
I have some friends who have had very good results with it and am pondering it at the moment.

Of course, I'm hesitant at the moment to put my eyes to any risk (no matter how small it may actually really be) and the price is pretty steep but ... my friends said that it totally changed their lives... seeing without glasses for the first time.

Well this is kinda funny now that you mention it. I actually badly wanted to be a Air Force Pilot, but found out my eyesight was too far off. I then found out I could be a Navy Pilot if I got eye sugery. I am too thinking about it but here are two issues.

1. $1,800 a eye is a little much for this poor photographer/student
2. It isn't a guarenteed deal, AND I have a uncle who had it and now has to wear those special contacts that suck bigtime.

BTW My 5 years with contacts were just about like eye surgery, I wore them 24/7 for months at a time with no problems (so not recommended).
