Thanks. If only I knew why it failed, and why it stopped failing..

SQL Service not starting or just not allowing connections?

Anyone have the 70-200 f2.8 NON IS here? I want a 70-200. But my wallet says NO! to the IS. I am considering the Sigma 70-200 ($1300) rather than the Canon NON IS ($1600) or the IS ($2300)

$1000 extra to jump from the Sigma to the Canon IS is a LOT for me. Thoughts/opinions anyone?

Where would I use the lens? Dance Concert/Soccer/Boating/Car Racing/ any general thing I need a zoom for. Do you think IS will make that much difference? I shot as a hobby, not as a bussiness.

Am I totally confused? Isn't the Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM only about $800?

I have the Sigma 50-150 2.8 (about $600ish) and I love it. I was going to sell it when I bought Canon's 70-200 2.8 IS, but I've decided to keep it as a back up and because sometimes that 50 end is SO nice. And it's lighter, smaller and less conspicuous than the Canon for those times that matters.

I think they upped the price for the new model.

About time they made a decent lens with OS in it. That would have been justification for a higher price. Alas no.

I just had a look at your Ningaloo gallery. I'm amazed at how many species of slugs you have over there. There's probably one for every species of butterfly we have in the Sydney region. Does that mean they are the butterflies of the sea?

I need to get back to WA one of these days, such a beautiful place.

Perhaps the new 120-400 OS and 150-500 OS are indications of things to come in that regard...

I don't shoot in really deep dark areas most of the time but I did a reception that was just plain DARK with the 50-150 and didn't miss not having OS...lens hit it spot on fast every time. For the money I think it's a great lens and I'm so glad I bought it, even if she doesn't get much use at the moment!

We keep finding new slugs, but my gallery system is labour intensive and I don't keep it updated very well :(

Perth/WA people, which is the best-stocked camera shop in Perth? I'm after a flash off-shoe cord or whatever it's called - to connect my flash to camera from a small distance.
There's one in North Perth that's good??

What about Camera Electronic on Stirling St. They are pretty good, and stick a lot of lighting stuff. You might want to give them a try :).

Well its exactly 20ft which doesnt convert to metric easily so why bother? Also where are the typos?
