Good to see we have converted back to imperial, and thrown spelling out the door.

Well, they're produced by a USA company, and the lengths are stated in imperial, doesn't really make sense to convert to a weird number of metric units.
I need one by Tues (found out just now), otherwise I was planning on getting one from Adorama for the same price as local shops inc shipping...and add a few extras to the package.

Do any of you use gels or other? I need to give my flash a warm colour (fire colour). What else am I going to have to buy in other words?

Thanks for the heads-up on the shop, I'll call to confirm what they have in stock.

GOt empanelled but the whole panel was discharged on a technicality. Stupid processions!

SQL Service not starting or just not allowing connections?

Not accepting connections. Couldn't even connect to it in Enterprise Manager. Just like the service wasn't running, only it was.

Get the 5" x 3" (I think it is) Gels they are $20 a pack but are a much better size! Check out the rosco site and find a local dealer to ship to you.

I wont be selling my cord for a week or 2 yet so ide go with adorama or local if you need it tuesday.

Perth/WA people, which is the best-stocked camera shop in Perth? I'm after a flash off-shoe cord or whatever it's called - to connect my flash to camera from a small distance.
There's one in North Perth that's good??

It's a pity I've just seen this post (and the timing wouldn't have been right even if I had seen it earlier :p ) but I bought one just recently (haven't used it yet) and I could have shipped it over to you as a loaner

lol - yup

I had been looking at buying one for ages - no immediate need for one - but when your one came up it was the right price which is why I jumped on it.

It's sitting here, on the desk, about 400mm away from me...

I was expecting a bit more warning for this - taking some pics of a friend's fire-twirling group for them. I've got the cord selected in my Adorama account, but just found out I'll be needing it for next Tues, so no time for posting. Don't know anyone else here to borrow from, and should be getting one for general use anyway, probably make me use my flash more anyhow.
Just realised, 200th post, do I get anything??

Alice, if you ask John to send it Express, you'll get it on Tuesday in time to use on Tuesday night...?

Sadly, no.

I'll be leaving here around 3am on Monday to drive to Sydney where I will be delivering training all day Monday - and then driving back here for an 8pm meeting in Canberra.

My Monday is stuffed.

Even if there was an OZ Post open somewhere tomorrow, I will be in the bush (camera in hand) and that is a 2.5 hour drive in (and out) so tomorrow is screwed, too...

Am I totally confused? Isn't the Sigma 70-200 2.8 HSM only about $800?

I have the Sigma 50-150 2.8 (about $600ish) and I love it. I was going to sell it when I bought Canon's 70-200 2.8 IS, but I've decided to keep it as a back up and because sometimes that 50 end is SO nice. And it's lighter, smaller and less conspicuous than the Canon for those times that matters.

If you can find it that cheap let me know and I'll get it tommorow! :)

I would love to find a thing that says officially they'll put OS on it in the very near future, but I don't like my chances! So I guess i won't wait....
