To clarify my statement a little better

They say on a non-1series that no AF over F5.6 but that is not exactly true. Before I bought my 100-400 is tried out ::John::'s one. I could get it to AF at 400mm on the 30D but he couldn't on the 5D in the same conditions.

My 100-400 will sometimes AF around the 250mm mark (on the lens) and up to 300mm on a bright day but I cannot say what the F stop was then, but it is definitely not reliable. @400mm it is definitely no AF in any conditions.

Yeah, my inbox has been quite empty after not subscribing to this one... having subscribed to the first Aussie thread I usually had regular emails telling me it had updated :p

Ooh, I can't stand having emails sent all the time to tell me a thread has been updated. I find it really irritating. :P

Yep will be using it on the 70-200 f4. From what i've read it's hit and miss with a 2x the AF.

Using the 2x on your 70-200 f/4 wont work. The max aperture will be f/8 and the 400D will not focus up to f/8, only f/5.6.

Aren't the US ones locked into a particular network? D-D Photographics have them for sale. The Aussie ones are unlocked due to our laws.

The iPhone isn't available legitimately from Apple in Australia yet, the ones DDP sells are imported and hacked, which is what I plan to do myself. It is very easy to hack the current firmware.

Haha, apparently the screen is very hard to scratch, but there's these super thin transparent covers you can get, so I might get one...

I have relatives in the US, so I can get an 8gb for about $450 AUD. PM me with his price and I will consider it if it is good :).

What did you think of the phone in general. From the ones I have seen and used they are really good.

It's not the front I'm scared of scratching - it's the rear.

I like the device. I prefer my W880i, it's half the weight, and almost half the size. I find the iPhone bulky and heavy in my pockets (no I'm not happy to see you).
