Lowepro Fastpack 350. Been busy here at work, haven't even unwrapped it yet. Glad it got here for the weekend though.

Hey All!

Just a quick question. I am looking to raise some money to help out my church youth, I am going to sell some photos from a formal we had. What do you think would be a fair price for 6x4, 5x7 and 8x10 ? They are not professional quality, but they think they are...

I have had people in the church tell me $10 for a 6x4. I think that is a bit rough.... Thoughts?

You've seen them....do you think they are pro shots? ( I dont) these are young teens...is that would you would sell them for at your church luke?

Officially...Assemblies of God...

I was thinking more like $5 for a 6x4, 3 for $10.

$15 - $20 for a 8x10

then a package thing like $30 for 4, 6x4's and a 8x10

I mean, any profit will go into helping them get to youth camp... None will go into my pocket.

In this situation, I'd imagine it's really just a donation to the church, that you happen to get a photo for.

Like buying a sausage at Bunnings on Saturday. No-one would pay $2 for a sausage in bread if it was just going into Mr Bunning's pocket, but because it's going to the Guides, or the Kinder etc, no-one minds...and they get a snack while they look in the hardware shop.

Even if you don't think $10 would be justifiable normally because they're not pro shots, I reckon it would be in this case, especially if you already know they like the pics before you start.

Definitely $20 for a 6x4 then. J/K

Nah, maybe like $6.50 for a 6x4 and $12 for 3?? I guess it depends on the shots really. Your doing it for the kids so don't go too low, but they still have to be somewhat desirable so you can't go too high either.

Yeah...I guess. but the issue is that the youth have issues paying $60-70 for youth camp...

That is why I am doing it. It's more so that the parents would be willing to help with photos rather than youth camp as they get something out of it aswell.

Ok, I will discuss it with a few more people with the church tonight.

originally, they were going to let me keep the money, it was just my idea to donate it.

Our church is very small, we don't have our own building and most the youth struggle in general with money....hence the need for fund raising! haha.

Thanks for the advice guys, atlteast it would seem that people agree $10 a 6x4 is not neccesarily a bad price. So I guess I will just have a look and see what we decide. I woul dnot expect any of the kids to have more than 10-20 max to pay for anything.

And truth be known, I would normally just give out the (6x4) photos at my expense for them...But yeah. We have decided this year to try and hire a bus so we all travel together, rather then 10 different cars going at all different times.

Whats everyone doing this weekend? I am doing a sunrise shoot tommrow and foo fighters (without camera) tommorow night :)
Cheers
Chris

I think doing a $20-$30 package for everybody sounds good Chris.

I have a quiet weekend. Movies tonight, will do some work tomorrow.
