Just cos I can, should I sell the 40D or the 30D? I know the 30D has same controls, but the 40D will probably have the same controls as the 5D successor... :p

The 40D definitely seems more logical a control layout though.

There's a queue of five or so people I know who is after my 40D... I'm not sure how much they go for, I might end up listing it on eBay if I can't decide who to sell to! :p

Must have got my numbers mixed up... I thought 650 was more B&W and 780 was more colour - did I get it the wrong way round? :p

Ummm... yep.

I was initially going to go with a clear glass so I could do UV photography too but decided against it because of the added complications.

not for now, f2.8 is too slow for me for now... I want f1.8 or better all round. If I have two bodies then I can afford to do so.

Hi i'm Alan, Clarence told me that this forum is a good for burning time.

How did you get down there? Last time I was there, I didn't feel like skydiving off the bridge to get some shots.

Welcome Alan!

Have you considered a gladiatorial fight to the death between the prospective buyers? Always entertaining and a good photo op.

Something I did today. Here is Dunheved Railway Station as it appears in 2008.

II went off to photograph an abandoned railway station that now sits on the outskirts of a new housing development but I wasn't given permission to enter the area by the developer.

Instead I went to another accessible part of the old line and revisited another of the abandoned stations I had taken photos of a few years ago. All that land on the right used to be a storage yard for trains.

Four image panorama (hand held, no tripod) with a shutter speed of 1/500 at a focal length of 31mm with an aperture of f/4.5.
