Ray flash arrived.

It's awesome. Exactly as advertised. Strobist says it best:

http://strobist.blogspot.com …ray-flash-ring-flash.html (external link)

Amazingly even, very well made, only downside is it has a little bit of "give" when mounted but that's probably just movement in the 580ex ii's hinges. The locking screw thing feels a bit ... not cheap, not loose, just dissatisfying I guess. But that's a minor quibble.

Go buy one if you can afford/justify it.

Nice Luke! I read that Strobist article not long ago. $300 doesn't sound too cheap - how does that compare to normal ringlights?

Definitely going to be getting myself a Rayflash soon - any other takers at the same time?

Mkay, given OCAU was no use, does anyone on here have a set of ebay triggers they dont want anymore/dont use? Looking for a V2s set or the 16 channel ones?

Oh and photo taxes...

I'm not sure. Looks like it may have missed the delivery van. Usually it would say out for delivery or similar.

Does a UPS van deliver it or is is AaE?

Damn you for forgetting me! :p

How much was it on its own? And where did you end up ordering it from?

I ordered it from the manufacturer's site. No Aussie resellers are carrying them yet. USD$350ish from memory.

Nope, no MMS... No surprise there though. But, for the scratching issue, the entire back is made of that really hard plastic.
