We recently went to California for a week long trip traveling between LA and Monterey. The absolute most special avian moments came on our way back down through Big Sur when we caught sight of a group of condors flying above us. We took some pictures of those and drove around the next curve where we were astounded by two more condors flying right by the cliffside. For the first time I almost had too much lens, neither image is cropped. C&C is most welcome:

Lucky you to see Condors in California, and got some close shots. The first one came out pretty good. Check my Avatar out. I live here at the Grand Canyon where you can shoot Condors any day of the week, and extremely close too. Come up sometime, we have about 61 in the Park and sometimes you can see 8-10 at a time. One time I counted 28 Condors in the area I was shooting in. Grand Canyon is the best place to see these fantastic birds....You did well seeing some! steve

Thank you Flo and Steve, I felt like I was pretty lucky to be as close as I was to those beautiful yet ugly birds. Steve I may take you up on that offer ;), The Grand Canyon is high on our "places to go with cameras" list, for some reason the list always gets longer the more places we visit
