Daughter in swimsuit

These are a couple of photos of my daughter that I took to give to a swim suit company to hopefully get to do some modeling.

They were shot with DRebel XT and a 85 1.8 and a 580 flash

very nice use of fill flash. although, if you were trying to get her into some work I think you should try for more of a body shot to show the companies what they will have to work with for their apparel. You kinda hide her body in the photos. but you do have a very beautiful daughter, that I can tell.

I took 100 or so photos and I just posted a couple of my favorites. Here's a couple more

Your daughter is stunning but like others have said the poses not only hide her body but the swimwear.

Maybe have her standing in front of a sunset, pop out her hip, place hands on her hips and have her slightly tilt her head and smile.

Like I said we took over a hundred photos. These are only a few. Most of the poses that we used were from the swim suit catalog. We had the catalog right with us while shooting.

Wow... she is absolutely gorgeous (and I have a thing for blondes!) Anyways, you are on the right track with the magazine pose replication but like everyone else says, you will need to focus on what it is the agencies will be looking for.

Something I noticed, #3 seems a bit odd, dont know if it is PP but if you look you can see much of the natural light is above and to the left. Her torso is more "in shadow" then the rest of her body and she is in an ackward pose (ie her legs are lock kneed). Might be a good idea to invest in a cheap reflector and have it placed to the bottom left on a shot like that.

Out of all #4 is probably the best though I feel her right hand placement is off and the image is a bit soft. Staging of number one is the best. Quick question, how tall is she? She seems like she is maybe 5' 6" or so, most modeling agencies have a problem with females under a specific height (5"9" I believe) especially for swimwear as they want it to make their models have that "long and sexy" look.

Quick suggestion would be to look up Marisa Miller, she is a Victoria's Secret model (my fiancee and my favorite) and has the same sort of look as your daughter.

These were shot just to give them the idea of what she looks like. I'm no professional, it's just a hobby. This was a spur of the moment shoot. My wife called me at work and said someone was interested at looking at some photos of my daughter. So I left work and met my daughter at a friends house to do the shoot. The only pp I did was a little sharpening. I pretty happy the way they turned out.

Beautiful daughter and pictures. We can all learn from the pros; check out the newest Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition (if your wife allows you to!).

Shybull what you have done is perfect for what a company needs to see. I can tell you first hand that when potential models start sending in images of this nature that have been over processed they are immediately dropped
in the trash can..

She has a much better shot at getting started sending those shots in than if you and your wife hired someone to come in and shoot them for you.

Make sure you send a shot from the side or profile if you will..

Not sure how tall she is but if she is in the 5'8" to 5'10" range tell her to go back to natural hair color and get her to an agency immediately..

She reminds me of Bar Refaeli....
