You can set a custom white balance to obtain the optimal setting for the shooting conditions by having the camera evaluate an object, such as piece of white paper or cloth or photo quality grey card that you wish to establish as the standard white color.

I asked because cwb resolved my problem with snow (A720 IS). I set the white balance while focussing on a clean patch of white snow... no more blue snow.

The EXIF data shows he had Digital Zoom enabled. That wouldn't affect RAW shots, but it would "crop" JPEGs, like it's supposed to. Try turning off digital zoom and shooting new comparison shots.

That was right on the money, took off the feature and it's back to normal. I had to take a break from the snow for a bit, I needed some color. I'll get back to the white balance/ bluish dilemma in a bit.

Took a couple more pics, sometimes the jpeg comes out better. I just could not get the red back into the tail light on the crw. The jpeg looks much better. I found that maybe 2 out of 10 jpegs look better then the crw's in the end. Lesson learned, never be to quick to discard before all pp.

I suspect that part of the "yellow red" problem may be a bug in your converter. The normal (Bayer) sensor filter scheme is 2 green pixels for each red and blue; if the converter has trouble weighting the colours (or the WB) right and gives too much priority to the green, you'll get a yellower result. The RAW in that one seems to be green-biased; it's not just the red lens, you can also see green around the amber tail light and on the side of the quarter panel.

Well, it was such a nice day around here +27c. I had to try out my new macro screw in thread lens. I used the macro and the plus 3 as well as a nd 8 filter, uv or polarizer.

edit..... not allways at the same time.

The jpeg allways seems to be greener then the crw, but the actual flower color is best represented by the crw.

These pics were in the same vain as the previous set, except the focus was on the white content. The crw's came out with a better white accuracy.

This next set seems to confirm what I have noticed before. The pp of the crw's seem to leave the ground with a reddish/orange tint as opposed to the jpeg greenish overtones. I'm assuming it would have something to do with Jon's previous comments.

All pictures wee processed tying to get the best result, did not include before and after of pics as it is pretty time consuming.

I dont find either pic to be the best representation of scene, if one was to merge the pics, it would be more accurate. If I had to choose one, it would be the crw.

Best of all, got to spend the day outside experimenting!

Check if this satisfies you as blue tint removal!
It is your first pic. I think there was some problem in white balance.
Likewise all your jpeg pics will come as good as the raw.

What kind of pp program did you use? What steps did you take? I generally only use Picasa2. Image editig is more than ok!
