At Dixons "Duty Free" shop in Gatwick airport yesterday, I noticed they were selling the 40D with 17-85mm kit lens for a few pence under £820. It appears that these deals weren't restricted to just people on international travel (I was flying to Aberdeen).

This appears to be about £90 cheaper than most other UK on-line places at the moment.

OK it's not worth booking a flight just to get the savings, but if you have to fly anyway it could be a tempting deal!

hmmmm you just gave me a thought, do they sell body only? If you can get tax off and a Canon rebate that would be fantastic!

Sadly they don't sell the body only, just with the lens. I've since found out they have a website so you can compare prices before you go:

With the £100 cashback starting tomorrow, possibly £40 for the 17-85 lens as well, then the price for the camera and lens could effectively be about £680 - not bad with a lens that's worth around £300 new and which you could probably sell for £220+ quite easily if you didn't want to keep it.
