Problems transferring files from ixus 950 IS

Hi All

I bought a ixus 950 IS last week I have three problems

1) I am having problems transferring files. it say transferring files
but it doesn't
2) most of the times it says that the camera cannot be detected
( i followed some advice on here in somebody elses thread and uninstalled and reinstalled)
3) the "camerawindow" window keeps freezing

I am on windowsXP

please help..
all the joy of having a funky new camera is nearly all gone
