I like the shot, but the compression is unreal... for some reason firefox opens it up HUGE with terrible compression artifacts, and IE opens it as normal but the clouds are still killed by the compression. But I like the composition!

I use IE7. You are right about the artefacts in closeup.
The original tiff is 35MB file is much cleaner, and that was cropped by 50%, down to 17MB; the further jpeg compression for web purposes alas caused the deterioration. Glad you liked the composition, thanks for your reply..

Yes, my terminology is, I am afraid, a bit loose! A kite surfer it is.

I have repocessed the shot, still a small jpg, but with less artefacts this time. Not sure what went wrong before, but this one is better!
