I'm only laughing cause you posted about it here :) I think I'm more laughing with you than at you... however, at the end of the day, you've got yourself one h*ll of a lens!

I know, I just don't know how to write with a sarcastic tone.

Now that's what I call sarcastic.
In fact, the smiley face is superfluous.

I got my 17-40 before my first camera albeit only a month. Jessops is a bad idea though IMO, I hope you got a better deal than £1,289.99.
I got mine from 123fstop on ebay for £969 delivered, that's a £300 saving on jesops list price (then I got my £70 cashback from Canon)

What will you do with the lens until you get the camera? Here is a suggestion from the 'Collecting Pics Of Lenses. Care to Contribute?' thread.

More seriously, what if the lens is frontfocusing, or something?? You'd better test the lens while it is still under warranty!

The general consensus is to upgrade your lens before the body, but this is taking it to a new level!

I remember reading once that this guy bought a, IIRC, 30D. Barely used. He bought it from another guy for an insanely cheap price. Reason? It was won in a competition (body only) and he did not know that it needed a lens so he couldn't figure out why his photos were nothing/blurry. One of the best bargains ever for the bloke who bought it!
