I personally think there is nothing wrong with the classic 5D. I actually think it is a very, very good camera which I was thinking of buying a few months back (in fact my good friend did buy it a few months back).

The 5D classic is good enough to beat a 40D in many ways (not features, but IQ). So it makes a great economic alternative for some people.
