Now the 5D mkII is here, I see the "truth" about the 5D coming out. It must be "terrible" to have that "terrible" weather sealing and AF outer points clustered around the centre!

 ;) :p

Yes, I don't own a 5D. Just reminding you all how great your camera is, don't feel so disappointed with the new one when a lot of us don't even have the old one. :D A few weeks ago you were all worshipping it, now (some) are complaining that the new 5D doesn't have this and that and it's the same as the 5D classic. :p

From the OP:

"If the 1D classic and 1DII get their own threads about how great they are, the 5D certainly deserves one too.

So for all the 5D owners out there, let's talk about how amazing this camera is and why you love it!

And for all the newbies and non-5D owners out there who are undecided, may this thread help you in making your decision ."

No need to own it or post pictures from it here. ;)

Oh and now it's called a 5D "classic". LOL that changed fast. ;) :p

Eh...I'm not sellin' mine, anytime soon...so, as 'classic' as it may become, it's all about the image. Who cares how one gets it.

I might sell my soul - err, I mean the 5D - in favour of the 5D2.

What's wrong with something being "classic". If you're feeling negative in some way to that term, that's your interpretation of the word. I personally think there is nothing wrong with the classic 5D. I actually think it is a very, very good camera which I was thinking of buying a few months back (in fact my good friend did buy it a few months back).

I tried the classic a few times and I loved it. That's why I was so interested in the new version. I just didn't heard about all the negatives (non-sensitive outer points etc.) before the new one came out.

Don't think I'm putting down the camera at all, if I already owned one I might keep it too, but since I don't own it, I'm extremely happy to have the "upgraded" version.

I wish I had the 5D classic now, but I don't so I'll have to wait a few more months. You guys get to use it TODAY. Consider yourselves lucky not the opposite. :D

That's a cool thing. The 5D classic is good enough to beat a 40D in many ways (not features, but IQ). So it makes a great economic alternative for some people. :D
