^ That's just not right. I notice you've updated your sig too :p.

I could just about hold that up. The Sigma 120-300 2.8 was ok until I got home after using it for 6 hours then my back didnt like me much.

The 500L was worse. I nearly toppled over. Yup sig is updated, I am going to soldier on till I find one now. Hopefully by Xmas ill be back with a 5D classic again.

There was some shady character selling a 1Ds III for £630 but this was their reponse via email....

Firstly I would like to say that it is still available. The price I would like to obtain for the Canon Eos 1ds Mark III 21.1 Megapixel is £630. All shipping costs are included in the price. The item is new, in original box and it comes with full warranty. If you are interested to buy it from me I have to tell you that I will only do this through eBay. In order to start the transaction email me your full name, destination address (for shipping) and your eBay ID.
As soon as I have the details I will forward them to eBay and they will send you an invoice with more details, confirming our transaction!

I could have sold that off and picked up a 1D III and had moneys to keep my 5D and 24-70L BUT no way a £4k body is going to go for that much NEW.

The 400 2.8 is heavier than the 500 f/4 though :p. And yeah that's definitely scamsville.

I found the length when on a mono made a big diff. The 400 was nicely balanced but the 500 just needed a bit more brute strength to keep it in check. Since it wasnt mine, I had to keep the utmost respect for it. So I didnt use it long enough.

Hey, I'm not selling out yet, just yet ;) though I'll re-evaluate whether I really *need* fullframe after the 1D2N.

If it helps, the answer for me is a resounding "yes". Though to be fair I don't have the precision matte focusing screen for the 1DIIN, and that's certainly a significant part of why I find my 5D is so awesome, that focusing screen + full frame = sweet.

I'll jump in to say this about the 5D for 1d2n trade, you're getting the short end of the stick.

I've seen 5Ds going for around $1200. The brick sells for $900. I've seen 1d2ns going for $1800. You're coming out $300 on the short end, plus losing a great lens. Me, I wouldn't even consider it, but if you were shooting sports and needed the bigger buffer and FPS, I'd try and work some cash into the deal.

Name is Peter and here is my gear:

NICE Jason! I know how hard it is to keep a salt water aquarium, very cool - what other species you got in there?

Would you recommend selling the 85/1.8 in favour of the 85L? Or keep both?

Get the 85L, and replace the 85 1.8 with the 100/2. Then you have a fast lens with good bokeh and sharpness, but have more variation in your FL's. ;)
