Beautiful winter scene Tyler...

Way to go, Jay, great job on bringing out the foreground! I see you are enjoying your 300...perhaps loving it too much:)?

Thanks...

I rolled the dice hoping to find a spot where there would be sufficient "Alpen Glow" on the landscape facing me to balance the moon and it almost worked. By the time the full disc had cleared the ridgeline, the contrast ratio was out of reach. :(

Can one really love a lens too much? :)

Hey, in a scene like that, any foreground detail makes a big difference -- it says "this is not a siloughette, this is what I saw". One of the nice things about the 5D is that we can actually get detail like that.

Can one really love a lens too much? :)

Awww, how sweet it is:)!

Thanks! It was my only keep of the day, but hey, one keeper is better than none right!

I saw the size of the moon on my way home tonight and cursed myself for not putting my camera in my pickup. It was big and bright for sure.

I REALLY like this shot. The sky, the trees, the leading lines, they all work together so well.

That is way cool, I love how you're preserved just a hint of detail in the shadow textures under the moon.

Campus life should be more interesting, than work life. I wish I knew half of what I know about photography, back when I went to college. I'd be in a much better place, today. ;)

Alas, work pays the bills, for now.

That looks very "crisp", and I'm not just talking about the temperature. :)
BTW, Nice to see that I'm not the only one around here that plays with alternate manual focus lenses. ;)
Your shot is GORGEOUS!
