BTW, Nice to see that I'm not the only one around here that plays with alternate manual focus lenses. ;)
Your shot is GORGEOUS!
-Bruce

Those alternate manual focus lenses can be great value for money, especially with a viewfinder as good as the 5D's - I sold all my Canon 50mm primes because my $30 SMC Takumar 55 1.8 performs better than all of them.

Comet Ghost Town, Comet, MT.

5D with Olympus Zuiko 24mm f2.8 manual focus.

Love it. I've heard that Zuiko is a fantastic lens.

Nice shot there, Jay. That moon looks 'huge.' What time was that?

cowboylife...looks 'cold' out there, but, it's a very pleasing scene. Good exposure on the snow...too!

versed...love the reflection of the sun in the water...and the contrast in the whole scene. Nicely done there, as well!

Dave, pepperoni, ob com, Jason R...all nice shots, there too.

pepperoni...what kinda lights are you using in that studio? I'm building up a fund, for new lights...so, I'm just looking for something versatile. Ever take those out on location? Just curious.

And to all the peeps with new cam's...good luck, I'd say it was a wise investment! ;)

Man, this thread moves so fast, it's hard to keep up...hehe.

^^Welcome. What part of the UK are you in anyway? I have a cousin that lives close to London...been wanting to visit her for a while...just never get the chance to go that far out. Wife and I don't have tons of money, so, it's hard to leave the country, when travelling. :(

That is way cool, I love how you're preserved just a hint of detail in the shadow textures under the moon.

Very nice Jay. I know You're loving that combo of lens and camera. ;) I see You took good advantage of the recent Moon conditions. :)

Thanks all...

@ Manish: Moonrise was (IIRC) slated for 5:28pm MST that night (relative to a flat, sea-level horizon) but it actually crested the surrounding terrain at about 5:40-ish. Just that slightly later time (relative to sunset) meant not getting as much light on the terrain as I would have liked.

I've been toying with the idea of tracking down an FD--->EF adaptor so I could use my FD 20mm and FD 24mm f/2.8 SSC lenses.

They're the reason I still have film bodies...
