I think the non-N screen is too small - how does one live with a sub-2" LCD?!

Errr did you ever shoot 35mm? Just a thought. :o

haha, I know. I used to have a 350D. Then I got a 40D with a 3" screen... now I have a 5D with a 2.5".

I COULD live with it... but would rather the luxury of a larger LCD :)

David, Keep in mind that the more folks that buy the 5D MK II, means there will be more 5D Classics for sale. I'm not the only one that just bought a Classic version.

I just bought one here on POTN marketplace the other day. I can't wait. This will be a good introduction to FF w/o the 5D2 premium. I figured I should get used to it's handling before going all the way. Plus, I think I might just wait for the 5D3 to (hopefully) fix that which I think the 5D2 lacks.

I know what you mean. Im going to be switching from a 2.5" and a 2" now. 2" will look kind of odd but suppose not that much of a biggie (says the guy who always needs a bigger woofer).

The hardest thing about a small LCD is showing people the photos you've just taken of them...

A bit more trackside work to start with. Thought with a quicker AF and response (not saying the 5D cannot) I thought it give me time to practice panning and get into the habit of relying of TC's or making sure I have the right FL to cover certain events etc.

Plus needed something I can use horrible weather. Its always rainy, damp, cold, windy here right now so as much as I know my 5D can stand up to the job, just get something that will eat conditions like that for breakfast. Resoluton is not huge but for online use, cant see any issues. :)

Makes sense. I'd get one just for the 100% coverage, in VF. Sometimes, the 5D viewfinder, as nice as it is...is still not 100%. :(

Just think of the anticipation in the film days. ;)
When I shot weddings, it was "all" film Baby.

And much respect to the photographers who could do that :) I'm a bit young for the film days, hehe :p but those people who could nail exposures first time, every time, without chimping - wow.

I was just going to comment on how some of the new people to photography might not understand shooting with film.

We did have light meters, analog needles in the view finders is one example

moew!!!!!

I'm probably younger than you, and I shot film for ages before going digital (full manual too - no meter, no battery, no nothing!) It's doable :p.
