Dude on the far right, I think that's UV light on his T-shirt.
(It was taken with a 5D, too, so it's valid to this thread :p)

Clarence, That shot is most EXCELLENT Dude. ;)

Clarence, have any more? I think I have to go find a black light, and some neon paint, and experiment. I think it'd be a cool concept. ;)

No wavelength does matter - you're just talking about different wavelengths within the visible spectrum. But radio waves, IR, and UV are just different wavelengths of the same photons, just like visible light is, they are just outside the visible spectrum. Isn't the reason we have infrared films because normal film isnt sensitive to those wavelengths? So since blacklights are UV lights, my point is that I don't know if normal film is sensitive to those wavelengths, although given our use of UV filters shooting film, I guess they are.

Good point. I think this thread is moving so fast that you and I were talking about two different things. I had assumed it was iso.

I had a look and I couldn't seem to find much else... but have a look at www.tangcla.com/photos/venuecam/ (external link) the beatmag folders for more club-related photography.

The few shots I took so far made me happy. I haven't truly wrung it out yet, but I'm sure it'll live up to my expectations. ;)

Ah but it's weather-sealed, real USM, and the bokeh is gorgeeeeous. :p

Well, you could get 3 Sigma 50 f/1.4s for the same price and get everything but the weather sealing (namely, USM and gorgeous bokeh), and one of those three is likely to focus right. And as a bonus, you get to return two of them for a refund. :p

No... another 5D though.

3mths old (still has 9mths warranty), with grip, and box and all.

I will most likely keep that one and sell off my one, which has physical blemishes :( but mine's only just gone over 10K clicks.

I went out on a late afternoon hike with my grandson today, and for the first time he shot with the 5D.

As the sun was setting and we were heading back, we saw this scene. I admit I grabbed the camera from him and did a few takes. Here are a couple slightly different framings.

Late low sunlight, so warm and soft.

I admit I like the second one the most -- the wider view seems to balance things out a bit more, although the first one shows some nice shoreline detail.

Whadda you guys think? Is one of these a keeper? Heavy PS work needed? Uninteresting?

That's a good find! Did the previous owner upgrade to a 5DM2?
