I use my 5D with studio strobes all the time at 1/200th with no banding, I wonder why one would and one wouldn't.
What type of studio strobes are you using and this is a noobish question but what is "banding"?

inthedeck Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 14, 2009 09:14 | #6842 Jannie, could just be the 'type' of strobes. With Speedlites, it's not a problem. But, with diffrerent studio strobes, with short flash durations, that's where the problems come up. MCSquared Photography

I have noticed that when in manual mode I have to turn this button in the third position so I can change the exposure time.
