ISO 50 has its uses, but it's really just ISO 100 brought down a stop - and this is most evident in the reduced dynamic range on the highlight end: if you were gonna blow them at ISO100, they're gonna blow at ISO50.

Got to say that this year, whilst i'm effectively having a year out before studying photojournalism i'm tempted to swap my 24-70 for a 24-105, just for a more light weight and versatile street / urban landscape lens. One of my favourite photographers on pbase uses a 35L / 24-105 combo for street work and it looks to do wonders, whilst being fully versatile as said. When doing PJ work next year though I would never use a 24-105 over a 24-70, well i'd used a 16-35 over both too anyway probably! :: For sale: 70-200 2.8L :: Nikon D700 ::

Went with the 24-105, I liked it a LOT. ... The 24-105 gets a bad rap. I usually use it for walk around/landscapes and not for portraits, but its a very sharp lens and the bokeh isn't really that bad IMO... Gear List

Understandable. If the 85L is you standard for good bokeh then a whole lot of lenses are going to fall short of the mark. Gear List
