^ I would totally dump the 70-200 for the 100-400. Especially if you've got the 85 1.8 coming.

Really? I never even considered getting rid of my 70-200 4 IS. But there is some overlap with my 24-105, 135L and 85 1.8

I'm coming from a 40D and 20D and it will hopefully become my main camera for weddings and portraits.

OK, I have some pics of the used 5D I bought today (won't have it till next week). At least, I HOPE this is the one I'm getting - it looks pretty clean.

I know the veterans will be annoyed by another "hey, look at these pictures OF my new gear" - but I hope your annoyance is temporary.

PerryGe, the picture of the deer was taken with the 400 5.6L

Some stuff that says "Canon" on it and a happy trigger finger.

I know I'm not the "artiste" that many of you are but I had to share these:
(Lemme know if these play in Peoria...)

Thanks very much. I'm pretty happy with these for a first effort using this much glass.

I am sooo sailing under a lucky star gearwise. I can't hardly believe it.

I did discover however (due to shooting at f/11-ish) that my 5D sensor is filthy...
